This was a sweet book. It was interesting to read and didn't demand very much of you. I read it in a couple days and definitely enjoyed it. It's not a page-turning thriller in any sense of the words, but it's still enjoyable. As a warning, there are relatively large sections in the point of view of another character. I was able to skip a lot of these sections and could still understand exactly what was happening. Nevertheless, I liked the strong character of Kate and the subject of bush pilots was very interesting. It's not terribly good prose-there is a chapter on one pretty minute subject, and then it skips ahead a few weeks (or even months) to another scene, and so on and so forth. At one point when there is only about 15 pages left, none of the major conflicts have been resolved and {SPOILER ALERT} she is lost in the wilderness. Nevertheless, this was a nice, quick read-not gripping or thrilling-just, nice. This book was great in the sense that the characters were well developed and the plot was intriguing. It was absolutely clean, and Kate (the main character) held strong morals and standards, which is a hard thing to find in modern books. It was definitely refreshing.However, the story moved way too fast for me. In one scene, there would be minute by minute details, and the next scene (not even the next chapter, just the next scene) would start out with "six months later...." It was pretty startling, and I wish it wouldn't have jumped around so much.All in all, it was a good book, just not a favorite.
