Treasury Of Greek Mythology: Classic Stories Of Gods, Goddesses, Heroes & Monsters (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I found the book to be fascinating and the illustrations stunning. Napoli uses art styles similar to the Grecian vases that told stories of the Greek gods, and it's like looking a way cooler Disney Hercules movie with a more realistic outlook on the stories. It's still very clean in comparison to some of Zeus' exploits in the original stories, but still holds true to what he did. Not only does the story go over the basic gods, but some of the mortal heroes as well, which was helpful, as I didn't remember them as much.Overall, I enjoyed the book and think it's a great way for children to learn about the Greek gods. It's colorful and bright, and full of beautiful pictures that were way better than the first Greek mythology book I ever read. I'll have to remember this one, for sure. I am so so glad I bought this book! I think that this book is fun for all ages because there are so many stories and they all connect and it is so fun to read. I don't know a lot about Greek Mythology and but I am so intrigued by all the stories. I mean some of them might be totally gross like marrying sisters and eating children and weird weird weird weird stuff but.... It is really interesting to learn about.
