Trolling Nights (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

4 stars. This book was so unique; It has its' moment of sadness, and also Deja Vu on my behalf. Wow, I was so stuck on this book didn't put it down until it finish. Tim's love to Bevin was from the moment he saw her, how many men can say something like that. I believe it is only in books, well in my life, so far. But I can only hope for the future. The way he loved her so much. Bevin had so many issues of closing her walls to be loved, her low self esteem because of her weight, how her friends treat her. I wanted to go inside this book and whoop her girlfriend ass for being selfish. Bravo to Ms. Frierson, a lovely book. Thank you. Ok, so my first well thought-out and honest review of this book was somehow lost! So I'm gonna make my 2nd one short and succinct:- good writing- loved, LOVED Tim Capshaw!- didn't fully buy into Bevin's character. As a former childhood pushover myself, certain important things about her character's portrait didn't mesh for me. To summarize, how can a woman who is described as the self-proclaimed "gatekeeper" of her circle and owner/operator of a successful business be sooooooo insecure she can't even think enough of herself to be able to look her love interest in the eye?! Among her other strong insecurities it takes a dressing down by said man to bring her out of her shell and to stop being so fearful of her feelings and herself! - the virginity issue: ok I get it she's inexperienced but to dance around having sex for the entire book was just a bit much for my liking. Like she wants to wait till they're married and then spend the rest of the time having a lot of near-sex! Irritating, I think I had blue balls by the time they finally got to it!- Overall a decent straight-up romance, but my personal pet peeve over weak characters who must be saved by their man overshadowed my love of the heroine.
