Marcus walked over to Aleesha with a bottle of wine and refilled her glass. After giving her a long, lingering kiss, he sat down in the chair next to her. The two of them were sitting in Marcus’ spacious backyard. Aleesha was enjoying the beautiful night and couldn't help but admire the way the pool glimmered from the reflection of the moon. The burnt-orange and reddish glow resembled a fiery, illusory mirage. She was discovering that the desert sunsets in Las Vegas were some of the prettiest she’d ever seen. “Just thinking about Jerra and how in a few short weeks she’s going to be a mommy.” As Aleesha sipped a glass of wine, her thoughts drifted back to how much she’d enjoyed herself this last week; she wasn't looking forward to going home tomorrow. She and her best friend, Keisha, had flown down to spend time with Jerra who was in her final month of pregnancy. Aleesha smiled and shook her head. She still couldn’t believe the former self-proclaimed Ms. Cynic herself was the first one to get married and now expecting a baby. Aleesha glanced over at Marcus and smiled.
