Good story about a well to do family caught in the middle of a ponzi scheme which causes them to move from their 8000 sq. ft house to a much lower class neighborhood. Here they are surrounded by homeless people, along with the very people who are being hurt by the company they are involved with. We get the story from 3 perspectives, the rich girl, the lower income woman with her family and a homeless elderly woman. I liked it. I haven't read the other books in the series. I only gave this book four stars because it started out so slow. But I loved the life lessons the two main characters learned in the book. Shasta learning she could grow up and stand on her own two feet. While Tam learned money wasn't everything and people were very hurt physically by her father. She learned how to survive without money, and help those without. And show her father what he had done.
I really enjoyed this book even though I liked the other 2 in the series better. a good read!!
