Una Calda Estate In Texas (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

If this book would have ended at about 55-60%, maybe I would have given it five stars. The book started out great, I loved the characters, loved that I could feel every emotion. But something changed over halfway through the book. I can't really put my finger on it why. I guess it was because at that point the book focused more on the hero's posessiveness and the heroine's whining over everything than on the actual story. When Ella Varner is left with her sister's newborn baby, she takes matters into her own hands and decides to make the father take responsibility. With a couple possibilities as to who the daddy is, Ella centers on playboy Jack Travis. Jack has a reputation as a ladies man but finally agrees to take a paternity test.I totally loved the hero and heroine of this book. Jack is the kind of guy any woman would love to meet. He helps Ella with the baby, even when her lousy boyfriend wants nothing to do with the infant. Ella doesn't want to get close to anybody, including Jack or baby Luke. But we know it is a losing cause in both cases. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

What do You think about Una Calda Estate In Texas (2013)?

I wasn't so sure about this one, but I took the plunge and read it (being home sick from work will make you read the most implausible things sometimes!) and it was fantastic. Jack Travis is a fantastic character, and I think he actually even beats out the first two heroes in this series! This one doesn't really deal with as much dark, depressing stuff as the first two did, aside from some allusions about the heroine's sister, so it was an emotionally easier read. I'll probably end up reading this one again someday.

Listened to for genre study. The narration did bother me, but it could be because the speed was up.
