While I have enjoyed most of Betsy's adventures so far, I can't say this one thrilled me. I was seriously thinking about not finishing the book (quite a rarity for me to consider such a thing) when we suddenly heard the story from Eric Sinclair's perspective (Sink Lair, king of vampires, Betsy's husband) and THAT peaked my interest. I know MaryJanice Davidson, the author, said there was trilogy within the series and it was taking Betsy in another direction but, honestly, the first half of this book was the same, shallow Betsy as always, only no longer funny. Even in the fictional world, characters tend to grow and develop but Betsy ... let's just say she's not.A brand new Betsy book was released last week... will I bother reading it? Maybe, probably... but only because (and if) Eric's voice continues to be heard because at least he's a grown up. Also zu nächst einmal muss ich sagen ich habe mich seher drauf gefreut!Ich finde Mary Janice Davidson ist eine sehr tolle Schriftstellerin :)Aber was sie hier raus geben hat....Es hat sich alles gezogen und war teilweise gar nicht spannend...Die ersten Bände haben sich wie im Flug gelesen und der hier zieht sich einfach nur noch...Es tut mir sehr leid wenn ihr nicht so denkt aber ich schon...Ich hoffe der nächste BAnd wird besser!Betsy hat sich ja ganz schön in die scheiße geritten...LG Fletzi

Funny as always but I really don't get where the series is headed if it is even headed anywhere.
