I received this from E.L. Todd as a read for a review, I started it a while ago & had a hard time going back to it. I read a few books in between & then decided to try it again....I'm so happy I did. It was a good book once I got into it & didn't want to stop reading until I finished it. Prudence is a very talented singer & musician from London who went to L.A. with her band to try to be discovered by playing bars & coffee houses for a few months. What she didn't expect was to run into Cash who would rock her world. Cash was an executive producer of tv shows & who like Prudence has been hurt in the past by someone they thought they loved. Having this happen to them they have decided to never love again, so when they meet they decide to have a no strings attached relationship for the time Prudence is there. Neither one saw that the relationship was changing until it was too late & it was time for Prudence to leave. Neither told of their feelings & Prudence left to save them from the hurt she knew was coming in their good-bye. What she didn't know was Cash had decided to tell her & what he didn't know was she wasn't leaving town. Will they find one another again? Will he tell her the truth about his feelings? Will she admit her feelings? The answers I hope are in installment #2. Looking forward to reading it & would recommend it to all. I received a complimentary ecopy of Under My Thumb in exchange for an honest review. Prudence and her 3 bandmates leave England for the summer, coming to the USA in hopes of getting their big break. But Pru is keeping a secret from her friends - she has no plans to return home after their 3 month stint, no matter what happens or doesn't happen in her music career. She's got her degree in chemistry to fall back on and will use it to get away from a bad breakup and her dysfunctional parents, even if it means leaving her only brother behind. Cash has his own secrets to keep. He'd been burned badly once before in a relationship and plans to never go down that road again. But when he sees Pru and the band playing at a club one night, he's drawn to her like a moth to a flame and will stop at nothing until he has her, on his terms: 3 months to be exclusive with each other but with no promises to each other - at the end of their 3 months, they each walk away. I really liked this book. I loved how the chapters alternated from Pru's point of view to Chase's point of view, so we always could get into their heads to know what they were thinking. I absolutely loved Cash - with him, Pru knew exactly what she was getting (except for all of the thoughts in his head and the feelings in his heart) and accepted it for what it was. And the steam factor was off the charts - all of their sex scenes were HOT HOT HOT! My only complaint is my own fault for not reading the reviews - serious cliffhanger!! But it's one of those cliffhangers where I HAVE to read the next installment because I am so in love with Cash and Pru that I have to find out what happens next! I will be reading Light My Fire soon!
