Under The Orange Moon (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I want to make it very clear that they low rating is not due to the author. I think the book is very well wrote and I didn't see any grammar errors. My problem with the book was Ben. He was selfish, unkind, hot tempered, stupid and just plain rude. I get that this is book and their has to be suspense. You can't have a story about people falling in love and they live happily ever after....that would be boring. But come on. Every flashback shows what a jerk he was to her. In the past and in the present he would sleep with her at night but mercilessly mock her during the day. He didn't want to be with her but heaven forbid she goes on one date. Also I get that he has horrible parents but the things that he thought about them really turned me off. Yes I've had a hard road with my parents but I would never belittle them and be so uncaring. Dylan was fine. Not very interesting, but the standard virgin who falls in love with the bad boy. I found her family to be interesting. Not something I'll read again but not something I regret reading either. Under the Orange Moon by Adrienne Frances This book was so good. Another great contemporary romance. I'm on a kick this summer with contemporary. I gave this book 4 out of five stars. It wasn't my absolute favorite but I loved it all the same. This story follows Ben and Dylan. Ben is the only child raised in a household where he constantly told he is not good enough. His only solace is in the Matthews family next door where he is thought of as part of the family and is the only place where he experiences love. The Matthews family is a large family. Linda Matthews is the mother of a large brood of boys except for Dylan who is the only girl and youngest of the siblings. From the time they were kids, Ben and Dylan have a special relationship. Ben finds solace in Dylan although they are not a couple. Ben loves Dylan too much to let anything happen where it will lead to heartache. The next day he moves cross country for college and does not return. When the story begins Ben is returning home for the holidays after years away at college and then at law school. As much as he's tried his whole life he cannot seem to stay away from Dylan. Dylan also wants do badly to stay away from Ben. She finally started to believe she could get over Ben and now he's back. But will Ben's demons allow them to be happy or even together at all? This is a beautiful love story. Ben needs to believe that he deserves happiness and is worthy. Anyone who likes New Adult or Contemporary Romance should consider this book.Nice new adult romance that did not disappoint.
