It starts really well. It draws you in and then you read and read, waiting for the exciting turn of events or crime or danger, or even a climactic relational event (as you read further in you realize it's heavy on the relationship)... There's none. I want to like this book, I do. I have enjoyed others, and this one is very thy rough and knowledgable about the Navy's inter-workings. Kudos for all of the research. This is an old-fashioned inspirational romance with high tech science, submarine action, and jargon. Not really a successful blend. Strong Christian message and just a hint of suspense--unlike many of her earlier novels which would have worked for Romantic Suspense readers, despite the message. Basically, this is about the affectionate relationship between older widower Mark Bishop, sub commander, and genius inventor Gina Gray, sister of one of Bishop's fellow officers, who really just wants to marry. A story of how friendship turns into love. Unfortunately, not that believable. I miss her more action-based, compelling tales of Romantic suspense.
What do You think about Undetected (2014)?
It was good. Very technical about submarine life, but not that you couldn't understand.
