Sam opened it almost immediately tea towel in hand, smiling she pulled me in with her free hand. “Hi”. “Hey...come in”. Placing the bottle of wine I had picked up on the way on the worktop, I turned to her as she placed a soft kiss on my lips, putting an arm around her waist I pulled her in for another kiss. “So what’s cooking?” I asked removing my ruck sack. “Can’t you guess?” Glancing around the kitchen seeing the debris from her handy work. “Umm it looks like it might be... Lasagne?” “Correct....glass of wine while it cooks?” “Please.....shall I open this one?” I asked picking up the bottle I had brought with me. “Yeah....I’ll get some glasses”. After pouring the wine I followed Sam who I now realised was still in her work clothes to the small sofa in the open plan kitchen-diner-sitting room. “So what’ve you been up to today?” I took a sip of wine. “Not much I finished working last night so I chilled out for a bit had a bath...how was work?”
