UNPLANNED by J. Heather Leigh takes on a tough subject that seems to be happening more and more in this day and age. Pregnancy out of wedlock. It only takes one time. One mistake and it will change your life forever.Leigh does a fantastic job at creating a main character in McKenna that the reader can't help but feel for from the first paragraph in the book. This is a quick read that I breezed through in one sitting. A few reviews talk about the novella being unbelievable when it comes to McKenna's fears about the church finding out about her pregnancy. I have to comment on this. I've been involved with a lot of different churches and I can vouch that some are more extreme than others. This is all very believable in my opinion. This is a wonderfully written novella about hope and how the love of God, your friends, and family can lift you up even at a time when you feel the most hopeless. If you're looking for a quick feel-good book, I highly recommend Unplanned.Just a note: I received a free copy of this novella from the author. This in no way swayed my rating. I only review books that I enjoy. This little novella was much better than I expected it to be. I don't often have high expectations for the Kindle freebies I download, unless they are "real" books as digital copies. This book shows how Christians can and (one way, at least) should respond to someone in their congregation with an unplanned pregnancy. I liked the honesty shown in it, the way the characters searched for solutions that were best for everyone involved, and sought God throughout. Of course, being a story (and a short one, at that), everything was wrapped up and resolved quite perfectly, but not so unrealistically. All in all, it was a good read.
What do You think about Unplanned- A Novella (2012)?
More of a short story than a book to me. An easy quick read, a little predictable yet fun to read.

A nice and realistic story that wasn't afraid to take on a controversial topic. Thank you!
