Until Next Time (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Well Matt and Emily have sure had their workout between earth and heaven. The training they have had to endure before even being able to occupy a body, then of course the learning curve of the human life they have chosen. It confused me a little bit as they kept bouncing in between their human and heavenly lives and who was who, but I kept up pretty good. I really liked this book and hope the author comes out with a sequel to it. It made me think if our current life on earth, and what is going to happen when its our turn to die. Does anybody else believe in reincarnation? For anybody else reading this book, I hope you all enjoy it.- Reviewed by Ava, a reviewer for The Book Faery Reviews This is definitely an interesting story. I was intrigued from the first time I saw the cover, and then once I started reading I was absolutely hooked. I’ve read a few different angel stories lately, and they were all vastly different. I think that is what is so great about these types of stories, there are so many paths you can take. In Until Next Time we meet Matt and Emily, angels. One on a warrior path, and one on an angelic path. Both sent to Earth together to inhabit a person and live their life. Only this time is different, they will not know who the other person is once they are human. In this life they are Liz and Daniel, friends – nothing more. Although that is not the way Daniel would have it, if he could have his way. Truth be told, I was much more interested in the story when it was Liz and Daniel, rather than when they returned to Heaven as Matt and Emily. I think maybe just because it is so much easier to relate to humans than to angels. Liz and Daniel are friends in Ireland. He has romantic designs, and she claims they are kindred spirits, destined to be friends forever. Then something happens one night, a murder occurs, and it will forever change their path. To add some further twists into the plot, Liz and her best friend, Faith, meet a couple men, Jason and Charles, who drastically change the path their lives take. I think this story was incredibly written with well thought out characters. It was great to see the archangels included in the story as mentors of a sort to Matt and Emily. But my interests kept coming back to Liz. Liz had a hard life, orphaned at a young age, she was left to her own devices. She inherited a pub and ran it well with Faith. But troubled as she may be, she still had an open heart and an open mind. I really admired her for her choices, even when they weren’t so easy. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in angels, historical fiction, and even a bit of flirtation. This was absolutely a fantastic read!
