He’s staying with me, and I want to spend time with him.” I don’t owe him an explanation, but I don’t want to hurt his feelings. “He knows about—” I wave my hand between us. “It’s not that.” I shiver when Dan runs his fingers up my bare arm and says, “I missed your cold feet.” “Well, maybe they’ll be back on you soon.” “Can’t wait, Dingbat.” The day grows ten degrees warmer when he lifts his hand to my cheek and stares at me without blinking. “Is that my new nickname or something?” I ask. “Yep.
