Vampires Need Not...Apply? (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
This series is getting better and better. Ixtab Goddess of Suicide is really getting tired of accidentally killing innocent people that walks into her, but is happy to take darkness from good people and give it to evil people but the accidents are taking a toll on her 70,000 years of hurt. She was called into a summit meeting to discuss how to save her brother Guy, Niccolo and the rest of their warriors from the portal but Penelope wanted her for their latest mission to find a Dr. Antonio Acero and to help him along with the tablet that he had found. But when Ixtab opened his file and saw his picture she lost it, since the man is a dead ringer for her long lost love Francisco a monk from over 200 years ago that she had feelings for but he was not what she thought (you will have to read it to find out). But Fate (not her snobby sister but divine fate) had plans for her that will met Antonio one way or another. Dr. Antonio Acero was brought into all this mess by a crazy Cimil when she basically gave him the tablet that will open a portal but his reasons was due to save his brother from the demon of a father. While working of the tablet things happened and one night he got blinded by the tablet and like the playboy that he was thought his life was over because he cant see. Until a voice of an angel (mean angel) came to him and took away his darkness and said some mean things to him and left his life. Or so he thought until meeting his neighbor. Okay Helena owns a building of penthouses and she turned it into a halfway house for vamps but the only vamp in the buildings happens to be the ex Sun God Kinich dealing with his change. and to stay away from his mate. Ixtab will have a double duty of roles in the beginning of this book, she helps Antonio with the tablet but also to help Kinich fight the temptation of Penelope's blood. Until Ixtab finds out what Zac's real gift is, God of Temptation, which he used to make Kinich only want Penelope's blood and to denies their connection, but uses his gifts on Pen to make her want only him and to love him. Ixtab saves Pen from him but also knows how Zac and Cimil are really being and she is to get her brother and Pen together one way or another and exposing Zac for who he truly is. There is a big shock for the Gods and their families that they never thought would happen, someones plan was not in the goodness of her heart but for something else. Now I just have to wait a while to get the next book to see how everything falls into place and see is if Maax gets to be visible again and if all is well. Such CHAOS!!! Yet so much fun! Bat-shit crazy goddess Cimil. She deserves some spanking... well, take that back. She might enjoy it. Anyway, at least in this book a lot got resolved. It still ended with a cliffhanger but not as bad as one might think. We have incu-pire or vamp-ubus, a sun god who is now a vampire, a daughter of a fallen angel who is now the sun goddess, the funky goddess of suicide. I mean, really, everyone is no longer what they are supposed to be. As I said, CHAOS!I think Ixtab is my favorite heroine in this series. What comes out of her mouth at times is totally out of this world, but I have to admit absolutely hilarious! I can't believe there is only one book left. Thank you Ms. Pamfiloff for this fun series.
