This was my first experience of reading anything by Alyssa Rose Ivy and it was an enjoyable one.The book was/is a free purchase on Amazon and as such I felt it was a "nothing ventured - nothing gained" download. Had I have realised at the time that there was a previous book in the series I may have not bothered but I am glad I did.The author gives enough background detail (which I am assuming is from the first book) that you don't feel as if you are missing out on something and the story flows very nicely.Written in the first person and from both of the main characters' point of view, the story is easy to read but at the same time I really didn't want to put it down. The total love-hate, opposites attract, inter-action between Becca and Gavin is great and you can feel the tension and heat sizzling off of them from their very first, accidental, meeting onwards. This is very much a will they, won't they story even after their first sexual encounter (of which there are quite a few!) but of course in the style of all good romances you do get a HEA.Whilst I wouldn't go back and read book 1 now as I have a good idea of what happens in it from this book, I will be looking out for any further books in the series. Both of these stories were lighthearted, and fun stories centered on the fictional town of Clayton Falls, NC. Set about 25 minutes outside of Wilmington, NC on the beach. I have to tell you that this is one of my FAVORITE places in the whole world. The beaches are beautiful, the tides don’t get horribly rough, and well, it’s the beach, what other excuse do you need?I love also adore the dimensions of the characters that Ivy has created in Clayton Falls. I fell head over heels in love with Molly. She is cute, quirky and carrying around way too much baggage. Same with Becca. She is smart and had a rough year. But it seems like Clayton Falls may hold a pretty good future for them. Heck, I’m ready to pack my bags and move… but oh yeah, since the town doesn’t exist, that might be hard!Anyway, the books are sweet New Adult style romances. I will say they border on YA, cause there really isn’t anything in them per say. I lean towards NA mostly because of the ages of the characters and the issues that they deal with are a little more mature than YA.Fabulous books, oh, and according to Goodreads, it appears that a third book is coming out soon. Ben’s pesky brother Jake might be getting a shot at love. Can’t wait to see how that turns out!
What do You think about Veer (2012)?
