During WW2 100,000 british women married American soldiers, young men they spent only 2-3 weeks with. They wanted to join their new husbands in America, it meant leaving their families behind. It was resolved that the women could come over to America on a ship that had been used by the navy. The young women were nervous, leaving behind mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, they might never see again.....going to a place so far away...where the accents were different. Good Housekeeping even put out a pamphlet for them on how to be "good american wives". 4 of these women hooked up to become very good friends during the journey to America and this book is the story about their lives after reaching America. It was a great read. The back if the book tells you everything you need to know. There are no plot twists, no unexpected scenes. It reads like a reader's digest version- enjoyable, but without the depth and character development that would make you really care. Numerous grammatical and typographical errors don't help. I did enjoy the read, but can't recommend it to others unless you just have time to kill and want a quick, light, read that you won't have trouble putting down.
What do You think about Voyage Of The Heart (2014)?
Not a bad story, but the writing and dialog were a bit bland and some story points were predictable.

Interesting story with some historical accuracies, but a lot of typos in the kindle version.
