Walking On Broken Glass (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

This book had the potential to be great. The writing is really good and the story line was as well. It really held my interest.....clear up until the end. It could have been another 100 pages long.I found myself identifying with Leah and some of her fealings. She is in an abusive marriage and all the feelings that come with it. She finds her strength. Then the story just ends. There is no follow through and there are SO many unanswered questions. You find yourself rooting for her and it just stops. I met this author and bought the book at a writers' conference. This is a wonderful book and I found it difficult to put down. The main character is a woman struggling with alcoholism and a selfish, demanding husband after an apparently crib death of their young daughter. Her close friend pushed her to go to rehab and the book mainly details her experiences in a 30-day rehab program. Reluctantly, her husband appears to support her although I didn't find his transformation convincing. She discovers she's pregnant and this spurs her recovery. The ending leaves to guess whether she stays with him or not. It's a really good story and very well written. I loved it.

What do You think about Walking On Broken Glass (2010)?

This book was honest and raw. I was a fan. Loved the theme of forgiveness and grace used throughout.

There wasn't any closure for the ending. Everything was left up to your imagination.

Good story, life is complicated - thought it ended too soon, but such is life!!
