This book is all about weasels. You might think that you know them. But you don’t. Weasels are sneaky. They are cunning. They are out to take over the world! Of course some things go wrong. But weasels are smart and able to figure out how to overcome obstacles.This is seriously a funny book. If you liked watching the cartoon Pinky and the Brain then you will love this book. It has subtle jokes aplenty. The weasels are full of personality. Their plans and comments (not in the main text but the fun little amusing comments) just make me laugh. There is so much to see and read in the illustrations and the text that this is for older preschoolers or elementary school kids. They will enjoy the weasels and their plot to take over the world. The illustrations have loads of details that will have readers lingering over all the pictures. This is not a picture book that I would easily share in large groups…just because unless you are holding the book in your hand you might not see all the fun details of what the weasels are up to. Seriously, this is a fun book. I almost spit coffee all over the reference desk reading this one. Weasels want world domination and they've built a Machine to make this happen. It's the little asides that got me, like the weasel with a drill who says things like "I'm entirely confident that this huge drill will fix everything" and, when asked to put it down, "No. Without this drill, I am nothing." Purely a pleasure read for those of us who like quirky.
