We're Both Straight, Right? (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
A fairly short, fun, GFY story of Larry and Zack. Best buds from forever, now at college and looking to make some cash.Larry is the dorky, crude guy at high school who needs to find himself, and whilst starting to, still has his moments of juvenile behaviour. Unusually for their relationship , he is the instigator in the Gay For Pay episode and in their practice runs. However, once the action starts, it is actually Zack who is more comfortable. Whilst I enjoyed the different role reversals, I was left feeling that maybe Larry would decide one day he was not gay acter all, but Zack, he is a life long convert!Easy one sitting/lunch hour read. My Review:This was a purely fun, entertaining little read. As a mother of a college student living in the dorms, it was entirely too easy to see how this situation could develop. O.O I loved these guys....just in purely how awkward they are. These are normal teenage guys struggling to meet girls, but they are best friends and have been that way for a long time. They completely trust each other...in ways they never would with anyone else...so when the money offer is made in a gay for pay scheme, they accept as long as they can do the scene together. They certainly never expect to enjoy the whole process. Go into reading this book knowing that you are not going to get deep reading. It's fun and a bit sweet. Larry is the clueless of the two. Zack is the more deep thinker, but they're broke college students and really don't think through what the repercussions could mean to them later. I smiled a lot while reading it and enjoyed the hour I put into it. Pure fun.
