I had never even heard of Jenna Peterson before reading this book. I was pleasantly surprised. She writes well. While I was entertained by the story, I didn’t love it. I have no plans on re-reading the book. However, Peterson did a good job dealing with a vengeful protagonist. It’s a pretty tricky thing to get right in romance novel-land. Too much vengeance and you turn a romance story into a bitter story dripping with hatred. Yeah, I’m calling you out No Good Duke Goes Unpunished. Not enough vengeance and it’s just a boring plot device. Peterson balanced everything well. All in all, I’ll give another Peterson book a shot. Being new to this author, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed Jenna Petersen's style of writing. Even though I won this book in a giveaway, & was very happy to have won, it took me a long time to pick it up & actually read it, as I was very hesitant to head down the path of romance novels again. It is definitely a quick read. A good escape, even for a short while on these cold, winter days/nights. I would definitely recommend it to friends, family members that are true romance novel fanatics.
