Short intriguing read. It made me think a little differently about what is to come after I die. It makes death not sound so scary. Death is like walking into another room instead of the end of life. I like how to the author included so many sources of information (quotes from prophets, scriptures and even experiences from people not of my faith) and that it wasn't just a testimonial or sensational stories. This book was recommended to me by my little sister just days after my Mom passed away. It made a lot of things clearer to her and so I read it to see if it would help me with my questions. The book is a compilation of scripture, talks by general authorities and also near death experiences from those that are LDS and others that aren't. I found this book just what I needed. It didn't talk about mourning, by any means, but it helped me understand the organization and the new purpose after we pass away. It was very comforting to know what my Mom is now doing. I loved how he taught the doctrine of the gospel about the afterlife and then shared an experience someone had had. I don't think we study enough of the afterlife because we feel it's morbid. After reading this, though, and reading the quote from Joseph Smith that it is a subject that we should study more than any other, I realized how important it is to know what will happen in the afterlife. My eternal perspective is much clearer and I realize more than ever that our life is very temporal and there are greater things waiting for us.A definite read for those who have just lost a loved one and also one that wants to strengthen their testimony in the Plan of Salvation.
Five stars for the preface, three and a half for the rest of the book.

A little disappointed. Material seemed stretched to make a book.
