“You don’t hide it very well, what you feel.” He patted Logan’s cheek when panic shadowed his eyes. “I can see clear as day, but I think your friend is still clueless.” Logan shook his head. “I don’t—it’s complicated.” “I bet.” At least Logan didn’t deny it. “Do you think this, tonight, won’t change your relationship?” he asked. “Because let me tell you, that’s wishful, and stupid, thinking.” “I know.” Logan looked away. “I just—there’s no other way to have him. I can’t lose him.” Cassidy frowned. “Why would you lose him?” Logan shrugged, but didn’t answer. The dark-skinned man was obviously conflicted. Cassidy wished he could make it better, but Logan had to figure things out for himself. Besides, Cassidy was a stranger, despite what went on in the hotel room. They moved in different circles, and this was a one night fantasy. When the sun came up, they’d go their separate ways. That thought chilled him, but really, it couldn’t be helped.
