This book has a ton of twist and turns. Romance, love, life changes and deceit. Gabby, you want to lock her up in a closet and lose the key for how she talks to and treats her BFF's. Maxine, you want to protect and shield her. Joy and her mother you just want to shake some sense in. The men I am not going to name, but you have some tear jerking stories behind each of them and their connects to these ladies. I couldn't but the book down when I finished so I immediately picked up the next volume and begain to read....the suspense just keep me going until I woke up with the kindle's black screen in front of me. LOL Where did we go wrong pulled at all of my emotions. I wanted to fight, yell, cry, hug, and give these ladies some true tough love. No matter what they all dealt with, they remained true to their friendship. I, for one, always said that friends are just like sisters. You love each other no matter how many arguments or fights you have. You will have each others backs, keep each others secrets, and tell each other how it is no matter what. Gabby was so conniving you couldn't do anything but shake your head as you read. I was glad when Maxine got a back bone and stood up to her husband. Joy's only issue was that she couldn't stand up to her own mother and live her life the way she wanted to. This story helps you realize that you shouldn't risk your own happiness for that of others but that it's ok to assert yourself and speak the truth when need be.I read this when it came out in August and also gifted copies to my 2 girlfriends. I can't wait to read part 2 and see what drama these girls get mixed into this time.
