After a pleasant morning greeting Mr. Chalmers began, with a smiling face, as if he were about to confide in a close friend. “Well, Madison,” he said in a confidential tone, “I’ve just had a visit from my doctor.” He paused to let that sink in. “Doctor?” said Paige with a concerned, polite lifting of the eyebrows.
