Whisper The Dead (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Alyxandra Harvey is one of my favorite YA authors and I am really enjoying her Lovegrove Legacy. It has been a while since I read the first book and so I really had to search my brain to remember but as I read Whisper the Dead things started to come back to me.In the first book the cousins had to deal with the Greymakin sisters and to make this spoiler free I won’t mention anything else from the first book. So you would think everyone would think the cousins, Emma, Gretchen and Penelope would be more heros than criminals but not so much to the witching world. The order has keepers always tailing them and Gretchen gets Tobias Lawless. This is where you see how well opposites attract as Gretchen is all about breaking traditions. She doesn’t want to be a debutante she wants to be part of the order. She is always defying her mother and her brother Godric is always helping her. Tobias is so straitlaced, neat and ordered. We learn a lot about Tobias in this book and underneath that aristocratic ere is a man trying to be everything he can be for his family. I love Gretchen and Tobias in this book they were so fun!Emma has a boyfriend but they try to keep it under wraps but it’s sort of hard when Cormac and her can’t keep from looking at each other all the times. It’s really nice to know a guy can love a girl with antlers. (You will just have to read the first book) Emma has a bit of a secret from the first book and has to do with the Greymakins and she is high on the Orders list. They want to know how did things and all Emma wants to do is find a way to get to her father.Penelope is the romantic of the three sisters and I felt a little sorry for her a bit but I also wanted to smack her around. She is the one who acts the most like a debutante out of all three cousins. Each cousin has something they can do that is very useful to the bad guy in the story. It has something to do with Greymakins and that is all I am telling. One of my favorite secondary characters is Moira, she is a madcap and is always on the rooftops. Godric has a major crush on her and it mortifies her. There is a totally sad part toward the end that really made me upset, but other than that I really enjoyed this one and it leaves me so hanging as to what is going to happen next. I really feel that I can’t talk to much about the book without giving away some key things, so I won’t.If you love stories about witches then you really need to try the Lovegrove Legacy. I really really enjoyed it and I so can’t wait for the next book…give it to me now!!!! (I hate waiting.) What can I say about this book? It's written by Alyxandra Harvey, one of my favourite authors ever, and I've been dying to read this ever since I finished the first book in the Lovegrove Legacy Trilogy, A Breath of Frost, back in January. I really liked A Breat of Frost and I loved Whisper the Dead. I just adored Gretchen and her brother Godric. Gretchen is a strong character and likes to take care of herself, also: she's funny as hell. Godric is yet another name to add to the already endless list of fictional bookboyfriends. This book was fast paced and the writing is beautiful. It was an exciting ride but that ending! I can't wait to read how it all ends in the final book...too bad I have so very little patience...

What do You think about Whisper The Dead (2014)?
