***SPOILER ALERT**This is one of those fluff stories I was speaking of in my last review. This is a book that I pick up when i am in that particular room. I can put down easily and get back into the story with equal ease. Very simplistic writing so far, and I am with the other that reviewed this that stated she only finished it due to Esthers diary writings. Karens & Dustys stories so far (about 200 pgs into) are typical, and I can already tell that they are going to end up together. I do wish to know what was so horrible about Sophia that Margaret hated her to her death. That is even to keep me going, for now. Certainly not one of my favorite books of all times right now, but will review again once I complete and see if my story changes!I am now done with this book, and I have to say, it did get better, it ended somewhat like I thought, there were a few surprises. But upset as once I did get into it, it ended very abruptly and left way too much hanging in the air, for me. I did like how Hatcher brought Christ into the book, in multiple ways. I feel a lot of authors claim they are Christian writers just by adding that a person goes to church or there is no cussing in the book or pre-marital or graphic sex scenes. So that part I really appreciated, Esther, Sophia, Mikkel and Dusty all seemed to have real, genuine faith. Did they get married, did she get that $300,000? Did they fix up the ranch? How long did Patty end up staying? Did she and her dad reconcile? Did Dusty end up finishing his degree? Was karen ok with Sophia not being her grandma? What happened to the family that helped Rose/Margaret get to Sophia? Did the journals come with them? I am assuming Esther died, but how? What happened with Junkman when he got out of jail? How did Sophia end up coming to Christ? At the end, I am assuming after Karens truck wreck and hearing voices that she did come to Christ. There was just too much left and no answers! Probably wouldnt recommend this book. It wasnt bad, it just wasnt all that great for close to 400 pages. And I am left again saying I wish you could rate in .25 as I want to give a 3.25.
