Three Years Prior, Late Spring… Silvester pulled out the box from his pocket and asked, “Amberlyn, will you do me the great honor of being my wife?” Lifting the lid and exposing the ring, he held it out to her. Her lips opened and her eyes grew wide. She stood up and put her hands to her mouth and whispered, “Oh, Silvester…” Her face looked angelic, the sun highlighting her dark hair, but in an instant, her expression went from astonishment to fear. The boat rocked from side to side threatening to throw Amberlyn overboard. Silvester instinctively stood and reached for her, to try and stabilize her, but that only made things worse. During the few seconds of this, it all seemed to happen in slow motion. At some point, Silvester knew that she was going to fall into the Thames and there was nothing he could do about it. With his own balance compromised, he ended up falling backwards and landing hard at the bow of the boat, his legs above his head on the bench seat.
