I have read and give it 5 stars. Christmas is a time of miracles and rejoicing the birth of Christ. When a young boy is left with an Amish couple by his father that never returns for him. He grows up Amish and is baptized. He stills wonders 16 years later about his real father. About to marry his true love. Things fall apart but God puts everything together for his will. I love how if you pray and let God handle things in your life and learn to forgive, life is better. The story ends with mended hearts and renew family ties that only the Lord. The book is written wonderfully, heart warming and inspiring. This book was awful! Written just terribly! It wasn't the Amish theme or even lack of more gritty plot elements that made me rate this book so low. It was the corny, unrealistic dialogue and "shocking" plot turns that I found most irritating. Was this written for a second grader or an adult? Plus the interspersing of Amish words and then their forced and contrived definitions in the next character's response was distracting and annoying.
Loved this one right to the end... If I was half a cook, I would try some of the recipes!
