Who Was J.K. Rowling by Meg Belviso and Pam Pollack is a children’s biography, intended for the intermediate age group. Filled with many interesting facts, the book goes into really great detail about the renowned writer. From her humble beginning to her fame with the Harry Potter series, this book really does a great job of giving the reader a glimpse into the magical world of J.K. Rowling. I have a bit of an addiction to the Harry Potter series, so I already knew a bit about the author, already. However, for the younger reader, this is a great book that is full of so many amazing facts. The illustrations are bright and colorful and tie in well with what is being said. Not only does the biography tell about the amazing author, but it has so much information about the Harry Potter series. It tells how the characters were given their names, how the first book was written, and so much more. When working with children, I would have them read the book and write a review on it. Afterwards, I would have them read the first Harry Potter book. I think that knowing some of the “behind the scenes” information would give them a better understanding of the material. 1.This book is called Who is J.K. Rowling and the author is Pam Pollack. The book was about J.K. Rowling’s life and the troubles she had before she became famous. Also what happened after she wrote Harry Potter and how she is now.I think that people should read the book especially if you like Harry Potter.2.The point of the book was to tell about J.K. Rowling’s life. I don’t think the author was trying to say anything other than about Rowling’s life.3.I felt that it was a good book and that it had a lot of information. I liked the book because it had facts and all the things were true. 4.I would recommend this book to anybody who likes to read autobiographies. Also people who read Harry Potter and want to know more about the person who wrote and came up with the book.
