Wie Viel Leben Passt In Eine Tüte? (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in out of box, dystopia, fae, paranormal, futuristic, books, that I forget how much I love love love this type of real, sweet, beautiful book. Where the writing invokes feeling, the setting is relatable, the characters are beautifully true, and the romance is a rare gem. This is truly a gem. Not because the premise is so out there or even that the romance is so sizzling or that crazy things happen. It's a gem in its simplicity. A beautiful strong girl finding a way to cope after her mother's death. On reading the blurb I immediately had a picture in my mind of what kind of book I was going to get. I pictured an angsty sad teen clinging on to these survival items and the story revolving around her focused on her trying to decipher these survival items. I was wrong. The survival item aspect although a lovely touch, it does not play a monumental part in this book. In that it, sure sets off motions, but our main character's world does not revolve around this kit. So immediately I had to change my view a little and re-evaluate the type of book I was reading. And I became more open minded.... Then I was crying.... Constantly. I have realised the rating of a book often depends on how late it keeps me up. Every since I was 10 years old and reading the new Harry Potter (which I'd gotten for my birthday) with a torch light waaayyyyy past my bedtime on a school night. These days a book keeping me up till 1 is nothing, it actually means it's not a great book. A book keeping me up till 3am in tears, that's a beauty. A book that keeps me up till 5am with no regrets whatsoever, now that's a rarity and I can't wait to devour a book like that again (second book in the Iced series is out soon! Aaaaah). So this kept me up till 3am in tears. I fell in love with the main character instantly. She's a cheerleader and the girlfriend of the quarterback. She's everything you'd think you'd hate. Yet she defies that stereotype. In fact most of this book defies stereotypes. The cheerleaders are nice. The QB is altho hunky and cheesy, he's actually genuinely sweet. Our main character doesn't fall in love instantly, her choice of love as well is perfect. Often in romance books you have to tut thinking urgh not only is he not right for you but girl irl he'd never notice you! Here on the other hand our love interest and Rose share a bond, it grows, it blossoms, the inevitable happens, (because what would a romance story be without a break up/hiccup) and then it blooms. The romance is very.... Soft... When I use the imagery of a flower blooming, it honestly fits perfectly, not only because of the peonies, but because of the way they both open up, from the dirt of the hardships of life and death they blossom together into new life. The whole book is sweet and tender, yet the strength of Rose makes it such a wonderful read, this isn't a character who makes rash decisions, nor one who is whiny or annoying. She's relatable and real and profoundly strong. Her surroundings, Krupa, unique, smart and a rock. Her grandma, hilarious, loving and a rock. Her brother, sweet, funny and also a rock. Her friends, understanding, welcoming and also rocks. You can't help but love everyone, for how they stand by this girl and especially when she needs it the most. It's really beautiful. Please read. Enhorabuena.

Charming & sweet. The slow romance was nicely done along with the grieving.
