Wild Rover No More: Being The Last Recorded Account Of The Life & Times Of Jacky Faber (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
As I was reading this book, I was stalling because I was dreading the end of not only the book and the series, but also an era of my life. These books have really inspired me and have really been a big part of my life. It has been a joy to share in Jacky's adventures and wild experiences. I want to thank L.A Meyer for bringing Jacky to life and for making her real. As strange as it may seem, Jacky has been a role model to me and has gotten me through a lot. These books will always be a huge part of who I am and though I am sad to say goodbye to Jacky, I am glad that she has finally found her happy ending. This twelfth and supposedly last Jacky Faber book offers the adventure, humor, danger and surprise that we fans expect. Though lean between some of the plot points, it still offers a satisfying heap of "the Faber charm." And, like the 11th book ("Boston Jacky"), it is delightful to swoon and cringe as lots of Jacky's old acquaintances are remembered. No matter how Jacky's story was to be wrapped up, facing the end of such a rollicking series leaves a fan feeling a bit wistful. At least a few threads are left open for our delicious pondering. Wild rover no more? You will have to read it and see!
