I just finished Windows and I liked it. It’s about second chances with a little bit of mystery to it. Lindy has loved Lucas for it seems like forever. She is a chubby nerdy girl and doesn’t even think that she will have a chance with him so she keeps her feelings to herself. She is getting ready to go to college with Tara when she goes to the final party of the school year. Kids make fun of her and she needs time to herself. Needing a minute turns into a shameful experience. Lucas is there, declares his feelings. He takes her virginity but realizes the mistake he’s made and leaves. She is upset and leaves too but before she walks out of the door, hears the other people making fun of Lucas for “banging the fat chick” and he says some things too which totally breaks her heart. She leaves for college. 4 years later comes back home, skinnier still shy. Lucas has felt bad all these years because he really did love her. Will Lindy forgive Lucas? You will have to read and see….I really liked the story. I thought that it had a lot of character to it. I liked that it was in both point of views so you really got a feel for the characters and why they did the things that they did. I did however felt at times it was a little rushed. I wanted a little more, if that makes sense. Did I still enjoy it? Of course I did. I also thought it was predictable. That’s a given but again still enjoyed it all the same. Lucas is a hottie. Did he say some really mean things? Yes. If I was Lindy I would a punched him in his throat, that’s for sure. Yes, he was younger and yes he admitted that he was trying to stay in the cool crowd. Hell, we have all been there. Whether we have been the prep or the nerd. I just felt Lindy was to nice and really should have given him hell. That’s me though. I did think that the chemistry between them was hot, slow at first but got hotter at the end. I cannot wait to see more from this story. I also wasn't sure about the reasoning behind injecting Lindy's ex into the story. I felt like there should have been more to his character but it never developed. I really did like the plot though and could feel for the lead female. Lindy's character was confused and after what she went through it really did all make sense, the reason her character was the way she was. This is a great read and I was able to finish it quickly, I would recommend this for a weekend read or vacation book.
