Well I've never been one to blindly donate if I haven't done a little research on the organization, and I was hoping for some takeaway from the part of the title that indicated, "...a Better Way to Give." REally sheds light on uncharitable "charity" hospitals and some fraud in other charities. Written by Ken Stern, once head of NPR. Talks about recent orgs that evaluate charities like Charity Navigator that publishes review of charities. Or GiveWell and New Profit that are doing intensive research to identify the most effective charities to give money to. Suggests that the best way to give money is to give it to professionals who seek out the best way to invest it.
