Wounded By God's People: Discovering How God's Love Heals Our Hearts (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I am certain it took a great deal of courage to write this book and share the personal pain of being wounded by others. I was encouraged to know I am not the only one who has experienced this. Early in the book I read these words, "...acknowledge your pain. Stop covering it up, rationalizing it, excusing it, ignoring it. Just admit it." The author moves on to provide practical solutions for overcoming while maintaining a Christ-centered life focus.Thank you, Anne Graham Lotz! Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of Billy Graham, writes so honestly about her hurts in this book, using the Old Testament story of Hagar, a young egyptian slave with whom Abraham has a son named Ishmael, as a back drop. Hagar and her son were later banished by Abraham, causing many hurts. Anne Lotz eloquently shared hurts inflicted upon her by others and some of her own making. She knows wounding is a cycle that must be broken in order to prevent bitterness. That can only happen by God's grace and forgiveness. She identifies too, with the wounder, because at times she has been one as have we all. She says that God loves the wounded and the wounder. This is a book that touched my heart.
