You Are A Writer (So Start Acting Like One) (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
There's not a lot here that writers won't also find in a dozen other books (and many of them say it better). But this author does have the advantage of writing today and writing today— accounting for technology, blogging, etc. which sets this book apart from similar ones published a generation ago. One point I find the need to disagree with: he advocates writing faithfully and well on a blog, promising that "eventually someone will approach you about publishing your work." While this may be true of some categories and subjects, it is far from universally so. Overall, it's not a bad book on writing— just not anything that stands out, either. "You Are a Writer" is a great little book written to encourage us to do what we have been gifted for. I received this book free for signing up for one of Jeff's classes by webinar. I really enjoyed it. Jeff is determined to help others and it shows in this short book. Very good advice. Some that I have already implemented. Great for anyone who feels stuck, not just for writers, but for people gifted in photography, art, etc. I give it 4 stars.

I liked this book, though it was slanted to marketing and not so much writing.
