You Will Pay - For Leaving Me (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
While the story line was good the story still seemed to be missing something. I am not quite sure but there were parts that msde me say um.. At the same time though, the story touched on real issues about abuse. How it is both physical and mental and how not only the person being abused suffers, but those around suffer as well. I did like how Arena was able to find love after she left Tom but at the same time it was so hard for her to trust. And I felt bad for the suffering she had to endure both during and after she left Tom. Eve displayed Arena a strong woman who had smarts and was able to do what she needed to do in order to survive after she left Tom. Even though she as a victim, she was also a victor.I was just too through with Tom in this book. The length he went to make his wife Arena suffer for leaving him were beyond imagineable. I just could not believe it. But boy did karma come back on him. She was able to get her revenge, though I don't think 2 wrongs make a right, in this case he deserved exactly what he got. Overall this was a good quick read but I do believe the story could have been developed more in certain areas. This was a very fast paced novel, managed to read it in just under two hours. Some elements were very dark, but for me that's part of the appeal. Books that cause strong emotion whether good or bad is a sign of an excellent writer. It felt so real as well, it was momentarily stunning to find out it wasn't a true story. I'm not giving it five stars because although a really good book, it doesn't compare to some of the others I've read. yet it is more than worth reading.

I didn't really care for the plot including the way the wife seeks revenge on her ex-husband.
