This book wasn't quite what I was expecting. It is really a do-it-yourself manual for mostly inexpensive upgrades to your decor. I think this book would be great for a new couple starting out in their first home and trying to decorate on a budget. It has some great ideas for updating rooms and individual pieces, though some of the ideas I wouldn't want to try because they would be difficult to change if you wanted to update the rooms again in the future. A great collection of do-it-yourself projects to decorate your home. As a person who lacks the creativity gene, this book also provides simple decorative ideas that you put together with materials you already have in the home, like creating a centerpiece with balls of twine in a glass vase. I'm really excited to make my own upholstered headboard and no-sew curtains. Who knew it could be so easy? (I'm hoping that it will be!)
