So far my favorite of the series. Not just a love story, the story of the healing and creation of a family. I read Mandy's Story in an anthology first and had to find the rest of the series. I do hope after Dimitri's story there will be more. I enjoy the different take on the Vampire, Beastkind world. To read the books in order: Amy's Story, Emily's Story, Zenya's Story, Mandy's Story, Dimitri's Story. In this 3rd book of the Fang Chronicle, we discover that contrary to what everyone believe, Nicholas is not dead but prisoner and being tortured for months before his miraculous rescue. Rescue orchestrated by Zenya, the I only she cat part of a wolf pack. At first I didn't get her and all the risk, all she suffered for a man she talked too for 2 min in her all life but then, animal attraction and mating instinct are definitely something else. Nicholas soon realizes that. This book was truly different and enjoyable as it brought cats and wolves together, made them overlook their differences to realize they are not that different. The fact that they all suffered is a very important element to the original acceptance. A few good surprises along the way, specially by the end of the book and a promising debut for the 4th installment in this world of vampires and beastkind.
