The fabulous story Zombie Queen of Newbury High is written by Amanda Shaby. The protaginist of the story is Mia, while the antaginist is the witch. Mia is a normal girl asked out by Rob, a football player, to prom. Samantha, a popular cheerleader, sees it all and becomes jelous. Candice tries to break the couple, so she invites Rob over. Mia wants to make sure Samantha doesn’t steal Rob, with the help of her best friend, Candice, she gets a spell and potion from the witch. What Mia and Candice don’t know is that she is a witch. Chase, a new kid, tries to come and saves them by telling them the truth about the spell, its a zombie spell. Chase tells Mia to try to remember the spell, but she doesn’t remember it. Chase tells Mia to carry water with her no matter what. Mia understands that she is Zombie queen which means she is the first menu. There are three conflict, the first one is Mia vs. Samantha, the second one is Mia v.s. Witch, last but not least is Mia v.s. School. The element of fiction that made this book a super-novel is the rising action. The rising action is when Mia goes to the witch and gets a potion and a spell. Mia wanted these items to put a love spell on Rob. She needs this spell because her rival, Samantha wants Rob for herself ! This spell will help Mia secure her love with Rob. What Mia does not know is the potion and the spell are not for love, however, they are turning the school into zombies. Mia then meets Chase, the new student. Chase is a Zombie hunter, he advises Mia to keep water with her no matter what happens, it keeps the zombies away. Slowly, she realizes that she loves Chase not Rob. This novel was very enjoyable to read. I would recommened this book mainly to all Middle School students that enjoy girlish stories with action. I would also recommennd it to people who like stories with characters that get thier lifes copletely changed because of a small mistake. The readers who read this book will enjoy how Mia has to keep herself safe from all the zombies. Mia has to make difficult choices while the story. As one can see, this book is an amazing girlish book made from one mistake. Just days from prom with a date and a perfect dress, Mia decides if she wants Rob to notice her and not cheerleader Samantha, then a love spell is her answer. However, thanks to that, things get a little, complicated...zombie style.From there she meets zombie hunter Chase and the two along with Mia's best friend Candace, they set out to save the senior class, hoping to reverse the spell that had turned the senior students and teachers into zombies. Even confronting the person that had sold Mia and Candace the spell in the first place and hope everything goes back to normal, in time for prom that is. This is a light quick read that I liked. I thought the romance was a little rushed but didn't mind it all that much. The ending was cute and liked how Mia would mention her Buffy knowledge. Anyway still thought it was a fun read so definitely check the book out especially if you're a fan of shows like Buffy, Angel and Supernatural.
