Chasing McCree by J.C. Isabella is an enjoyable read, the characters are quite easy to relate to and the story flows quite nicely; but that's it really, it doesn't set you alight, it meanders you along in a feel good sort of way.Briar is your average school girl; she's in with the popular crowd, she's a cheerleader and she's dating one of the most eligible boys in school, but is that what she wants? When Briar meets Chase McCree for the first time, she's stumbling across the football field, drunk and bleeding, and he's riding a horse! Not too unusual, but they're in Florida, not Montana!Chase has been living with his mother in Florida, having left behind his ranch in Montana, and he's missing it, terribly. He's not fitting in with the kids at school and he hasn't made a single friend since moving there; until Briar. He can't leave her alone in the dark whilst drunk, so he helps her out, and so begins their story.Briar is only 17, and acts her age completely. Chase is the same age, but acts older than his years, and I find him easier to relate to than Briar. The story is your typical boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after. This is obviously all good, but I think that the story lacked a little something to grip you and pull you in.I did enjoy reading this story and I'd recommend it as a quick easy read, but don't expect any fireworks, it's just 'nice'! ¡Oh!
