سیمای زرد / The Yellow Face (1901) - Plot & Excerpts
Just when I start to really enjoy Holmes' snide remarks, superior attitude, and brooding melancholy, Sir Doyle writes a sweet, sentimental piece where love trumps tradition and prejudice. I've admired Holmes since I was a pre-teen. In re-reading the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, I've come to highly regard Watson, too. If it weren't for the friendship of Watson, Holmes would have eventually succumbed to drug use. Watson is his lifeline to humanity. Excellent, Mr. Holmes! The Yellow Face proved to a be an engaging an surprisingly creepy little tale. The story plot flowed perfectly and all the evidence concluded at the end perfectly fit together to provide an ending that I did not see coming. The surprisingly happy ending was what really threw me of guard. However, it wasn't merely a "deus ex machina solution", it was truly genuine and satisfying. I wished the story could have lasted a bit longer though.
What do You think about سیمای زرد / The Yellow Face (1901)?
Not the best Holmes story, but a touching once. I got a little teary at the end.
