17 Cents & A Dream: My Incredible Journey From The USSR To Living The American Dream (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
This is an easy read; I read it last night while sitting by the campfire. Daniel is a good motivational speaker/writer and his story was interesting enough to keep me engaged. One thing I found was that his story is not told in a linear fashion and I found it a bit hard to picture him in my head because at some points I wasn't sure how old he was supposed to be. It's broken into sections, and each section is kind of a little motivator. I will recommend this book to some of my younger friends to remind them that they can work to make their dreams come true. I won this book through Goodreads.I liked the book very much. It is very inspirational to read about how the author overcame his struggles and made a good life for him and his family. He is an amazing man, who goes out of his way to help other people who have similar struggles.I found the book very interesting too, because I grew up in Denmark and remember very well the Chernobyl disaster. My husband, 2 children an I immigrated to Canada in 1988, so I know what it feels like to leave your family and friends (and your country). We have had ups and downs, but not nearly as bad as the author is describing.I can strongly recommend this book.
