6. His (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

The book started out good. Molly the main character witnessed an abduction and did nothing about it. Only to wake up realizing the girl died. This left Molly traumatized. So to help her recover she uprooted her family. Only to be involved in another child missing. Well this time Molly is not going to sit back. She begins to have visions, and is determined to save the young girl Tracey. I ask you to come and join Molly on the search for Tracey. This book has many twist and turns and in the end you will be pleasantly surprised. I got this book for free from BookBub.com. Ok, I read this book while down and out with the shingles so I might have been too doped up to "get it". I don't think this is the case though because I read joe hills new book and was enthralled and transported into the story. It took me almost u til the end of the book to realize that Amanda wasn't her kid who was kidnapped and killed. Once I figured that out I saw Molly in a completely different light. All the while I was thinking that she was this brave woman and how remarkable that her marriage survived. Once the realization hit me, I thought of her as melodramatic and selfish. She was so upset that she moved her family. I guess I can understand being traumatized, but to uproot your entire family? She went into this deep depression. It all fit with it being her kid, but since she didn't even know the child it just seemed over the top. This isn't a spoiler because I think we were supposed to get this right off the bat. I didn't.The suspense end is decent. It really is the only thing that kept me reading. The downfall of the kindle is that you can't easily flip to he end and find out what happened. Of course the red herrings were evident. I knew something was going on with all of the shade being thrown on the pastor, Hannah and newton, but I knew it wasn't the kidnapping. In fact, I figured everything out way way way early in the book, so I still am befuddled how I missed who Amanda was. Oh we'll.The addition of all of the characters, I thought was just too much. I didn't really like any of them. I did like the visions aspect, but the ghosts came way to late for me and served no purpose.Overall, the three rating is a bit high, but felt two was too low. The premise of the book is innovative though.

What do You think about 6. His (2012)?

Not a bad story but way too long! I found myself wanting to skip chapters to get to the end.
