8 Undeniable Qualities Of A Winner (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
If you like your motivation with a dash of divine guidance, this book is for you. The eight qualities of a winner are easy to attain, and if everyone behaved like is suggested, we would not only all be successful, but the world would be a happier place! This book is the latest in a long list of books about living the life I was meant to live that have been calling me to be read. I would have gotten a lot out of it even if I wasn't a Joel Junkie....(or Osteeniac?)...either way, it was a great book! YOU CAN, YOU WILL by Joel Osteen is a practical guide in eight steps how be the successful person you are meant to be, that God has ordained you to be.1. Dare to dream big-do not dream something easily attainable. Dream something bigger than even in your wildest dreams you may not conceive of happening right away. Joel provides the example of one of his bigger dreams/vision. From being inside the small Lakewood Community church his father built, to dreaming of a bigger building, one that was already built, that could hold even more members than he could have ever imagined.2. Focus on your course and your goals. As long as you are following God’s word and are learning and doing the right things on the path to your dreams, with faith God will open doors that were closed to you.3. Control your thoughts and attitude. Think positive. When you are constantly thinking negatively, negative things surround you. Change your way of thinking, the more you are grateful for and the more positive your attitude is, the right things will start happening for you. Negativity breeds negativity. Wake up in the morning and declare that you woke up to see a Monday morning and although your day is going to be busy, it will be a great one. Count your blessings. The things you are complaining or thinking negatively about, someone else would gladly take your position or place if given the opportunity to appreciate the gifts in your life.4. Expect nothing but good things to come your way. This is where you need to pray and let it go. Do not second guess or doubt what God can do. Because when you expect good, good things will happen for you.5. Most importantly we are guilty of losing our passion for things that once made us excited. Like that new job, now it is old, and that excitement you once had is gone. You are just going through the motions. Do not lose your passion. When the passion starts to fizzle in something, find new ways to improve on it or find something else that will spark that passion within you again.6. Do your best. Set high standards for yourself.7. Continue to improve. It is part of the growth process. No matter how old you are there is always room for you to improve and learn more.8. Invest yourself in others. If you see someone that needs to be lifted, be that person to offer a encouraging word. If you see someone in need of help, help them if you are able. When you invest in others, God sees that and will reward you. DO NOT have the attitude that oh if I help this person or that person God is going to reward me. Just know that God is watching the things you do. Do things out of the kindness of your heart and not with any expectations. You Can, You Will by Joel Osteen is more of a common sense guide that many of us fail to remember when we are on a journey to be more successful. With these eight key principles, you are sure to tap into the YOU, that God expects you to be. God did not put you on this earth to just get through life. He put you here for you to LIVE life to the fullest. Remember You Can, You Will be the best YOU there is.Reviewed by Leona
