Rock and roll story of Eli Blue whose father was a famous rock and roller who died of an over dose when she was just 13 and Deacon who met Eli the first time when she was 12 and she truly changed his life by introducing Deacon to her dad and asking him to play for her. Move forward 12 years later when they meet again and Deacon does not recognize Eli though she is their to sign his band to a management deal. This book is well written, however, no real angst. I wanted more relationship building and execution from Deacon and Eli. They really did not have much time alone learning about one anothers pasts. I enjoyed the ending but the middle fell a bit flat for me. 4.5 starsi don't know what it was about this book, but i was completely mesmerized from the very start. everything just flowed so well. i loved all the primary characters in this book, and some of the secondary ones too. some turns i saw coming, and others i didn't. i read it in less than 4 hours, life be damned. the writing style, the characters, the story - everything had me hooked. usually these little pieces of literary gems show up in unexpected places.
