2.5 StarsTwo music superstars from different sides of the track go from friends to lovers. Rock singer, Ash Ivers, and country music star, Jackson Abrams, go from feuding to f*cking after their first face-to-face meeting. While Ash is out, Ivers is not and their story takes a turn when the media gets wind of their love affair. This story was alright. At first, Ash was just a dick. Then he wasn't. I enjoyed the relationship building between he and Jack but it got a little dull around the 65% mark. Everything was so sweet - sickly so at times. It left the emo in me gagging.Plus, I thought the agent and Opry Star got off way too easy. Bigoted bastards.Bottom-line: Entertaining but super sweet, too much so IMHO. Somehow I thought this lost a little something when it went from a short story to a novel. Ash and Jackson had the same chemistry that I loved before. It was the extras which didn't do it for me. The band members of From Ashes seemed a little too sensitive. They seemed to want to chat about their feeling a lot. That struck me as being unusual. Some of the dialogue had the same quality. It had an unnatural feel. They were over explaining themselves or adding things into the conversation which wouldn't happen in real life. Ash and Jackson were great and I liked reading about them. I found a couple things odd and they pulled me out of the story a little bit. Other than that, I liked it.
