A Little Salty To Cut The Sweet: Southern Stories Of Faith, Family, And Fifteen Pounds Of Bacon (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I thoroughly enjoyed reading A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet. This book reminded me of all the fun moments I had with my grandparents in the past. I appreciated how the author encouraged readers to cherish every moment with our relatives, even if they are getting on our last nerve. Be prepared to laugh a lot, and in a few chapters, tear up just a little, especially if you have ever had to say goodbye to loved ones. I discovered Sophie's blog about six months ago and fell instantly in love. I found myself spending hours going back and reading her archives because she is just so funny and relatable. So it was no surprise to me that I devoured this book. I'm a northern girl but I thoroughly enjoyed her Southern stories, writing style, humor, and faith. I laughed out loud several times but also was touched by the way she wove Jesus into her stories. I highly recommend Sophie's book and her blog!
