A Maine Christmas...or Two - A Duet: The Billionaire's Angel & A Mermaid Isle Christmas (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I was thrilled to win a signed copy of A Maine Christmas...or Two. In return I will post an honest review. The Billionaire's Angel:First off, I loved this story!!! If you like a smokin' HOT alpha-male, this is a story for you! Grady was completely taken with Emily from the moment he saw her. There was not much of a story of him being a "beast", just some mentioning of occurrences with the town people. However, I am okay with that because I like the "do anything to make you happy" sort. Right from the start he was a little abrupt with what he wanted from her, but I didn't think he was an ass or anything. He was immediately concerned for her safety and happiness, I thought he was kinda sweet in that whole alpha way;) I would have liked more of a physical description of both characters, it just helps me put a face with it. I liked Emily, she seemed to have a heart of gold and deserved to be worshiped. She also was immediately taken with Grady and I loved how she helped calm him and took his fears away at the party. I am also not one for big conflicts or heartbreaks when reading stories, so I was very happy that Grady and Emily didn't have any. I love HEA with no real upsets...that's just me! Lastly, there was HOT sex scenes, a fierce protective hotty and a sweet loving girl. All the makings for an incredible story. Can't say it enough...LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!*****5 stars*****A Mermaid Isle Christmas:This was a good story. I loved Chloe, she was straight forward, expressive and loving. Aiden was a dominant hotty in the bedroom, that's always a plus! I have to say (and I'm sure I sound like a horrible person) I am not a huge fan of stories where fiancées or spouses are pining over there lost loves. As the story went on it sounded like he wasn't even that much in love with Hannah, but kept obsessing over her accident for 3years!!! No one made her drive drunk and NOT wear her seatbelt (and do drugs, party and spend his money). Ugh, I wish he would have moved on a little faster instead of being so miserable and an ass to Chloe at times! The story seemed rushed, but did enjoy it more after he told Chloe about the accident. He felt and acted like a weight was lifted off of him and then he was more loving to Chloe...just wished it had happened sooner. I did love the last couple of paragraphs of the story, it was a very sweet and happy ending. This was a very well written story, it just was not a personal preference of a story line. I am very interested in reading more from this author!!!***3.5 stars*** I just finished the second story in this book and I was not disappointed with either story. They are quick reads but both will hold you from the very first word to the very end. If you are a fan of the billionaire series then this one will make you laugh in places. Grady is a friend of Simon's so right there it should tell you something. He meets Emily the woman destined to turn his world upside down. I like how again Jan brings these characters to life and has you feeling things for them as though they are real people. I have not read Cali MacKay in the past because I thought most of her books were historical romance and that is just not something that I have enjoyed reading in the past this book however changed my point of view about this author. I was engaged in the book I wanted to know what would happen to these characters next and thought the ending was just perfect. I would recommend this book to anyone. You will be pleasantly surprised how good both these authors are if you are not already a fan
What do You think about A Maine Christmas...or Two - A Duet: The Billionaire's Angel & A Mermaid Isle Christmas (2013)?
Another great story from J.S. Scott. Very similar to Simon but I enjoyed that. Good Christmas story.
