A Nation Worth Ranting About (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
I really enjoyed this book. It's all about politics, (with some human interest stories mixed in as well), but it's not stuffy. Rick also thinks that you have a basic understanding of the workings of the Canadian government, which I heartily approve of because I had being treated like an idiot. I would read this again, and I would recommend this to anyone who's interested in Canada. Keep doing what you're doing Rick! Rick Mercer is definitely one of the smartest Canadians around, esp. regarding Canadian politics. If you've ever watched his shows, you'd know what to expect from this book. His love and passion for this country resonates through the pages. His common-sense, everyman views are direct and humorous. I find his reflections on Jamie Hubley, a gay teen who committed suicide after being bullied in school, poignant and touching.
What do You think about A Nation Worth Ranting About (2012)?
Amusing, thoughtful, and very Canadian focused. Some of the political references are a bit dated.

A revealing book! Bit intense at times, so reading in spurts worked for me.
